We were told that the tech revolution would make our lives easier and more fulfilling.

We gave our personal information, we learned programming, we built the robots, we brought big tech into our schools, wallets, jobs, governments and homes. We cheered on the rise of big tech. But what, if anything, has really changed in our lives?

Our productivity should be measured by our happiness, not how much we profit our bosses make. Similarly, technology should be at the service of the planet, not vice versa. We envision technology helping us to rest more, instead of making us work multiple jobs just to scrape by. We don’t need Big Tech tracking our movements to feel safer in our communities; we want freedom of movement and privacy. We imagine technology can help us steward better for future generations without the need of energy-sucking data centers simply to store our information and capture our attention.

Just as the 2008 housing crisis transferred wealth to a handful while impoverishing and displacing millions; or as multiple wars and sanctions benefit the stock traders while destroying the lives and the wallets of working people, the ‘Big Tech revolution’ is simply another consolidation of wealth and power to the few.

We, the many, continue to live and die in debt, while a handful of greedy pedophiles enrich themselves destroying our lives and our planet.

We aim to take our place alongside people around the world fighting for their land, livelihood, and self-determination. We reject the need for the creation of new modes of  “precision” death and destruction carried out in our communities and around the world, which only makes us all less safe and more miserable. We see those on the other side of borders as our allies to heal each other and the planet, not competition to earn another dollar. We believe there is more satisfaction and security by celebrating all life, rather than destroying it.
